Uncertainty doesn't make you unfit, it means you're human

Feeling Uncertain Doesn’t Mean You’re Not a Leader

Let’s face it: no one taught us how to lead through chaos.
Not in school. Not in leadership training. Not in onboarding.
And definitely not during times like these—when global unrest, economic instability, and collective anxiety have become part of our daily atmosphere.

So if you’re a leader who sometimes wakes up feeling unsure… uncertain… even afraid…
Let me reassure you:
You are not failing.
You are not broken.
And you are not alone.

Being human doesn’t disqualify you from leadership.

In fact, being human is exactly what we need more of in leadership right now.

One of the biggest myths we’re sold about leadership is that good leaders are decisive, confident, and always know what to do.
But the truth is, real leadership is much messier than that. It’s not about having all the answers—it’s about being present, listening, and responding with care.

The world has changed. The old models of top-down authority no longer inspire. What inspires now is something different. Something braver.

It’s a leader who says:

“I don’t have all the answers, but I’m here. I’m listening. Let’s figure this out together.”

If you’re new to leadership—maybe just stepping into your first team lead role, or trying to guide others while still figuring it all out yourself—know this:

  • Uncertainty is not a weakness.
  • Vulnerability is not a flaw.
  • Pausing to ask questions is not a sign of incompetence.

It’s a sign that you’re awake. Aware. Responsible.
And it might just be the beginning of becoming a truly authentic leader.

When the world is foggy, people look for a light.

But not a spotlight. A lantern. Something soft and steady.

You don’t need to shine with all the answers—you just need to bring enough clarity for the next step.
That’s what real leadership is.

So if you’re feeling unsure, let that be your starting point. Let it shape your questions, your curiosity, and your care for others.

You’re not unfit.
You’re simply navigating reality with integrity.

And that is leadership in its purest form.

What’s one way you’ve shown up for others recently—even while feeling unsure yourself?
